About usPolycore ShuttersAt the time this site was first published, one of the most exciting new developments was the introduction of the polycore synthetic used in the shutter frame and slat construction. Over the last few years and since the incorporation of this site in 2006, there have been various developments within the manufacture of shutters and especially relating to new composites used in window shutter construction. We have decided that, so exciting and noteworthy are these research developments that it would be misleading and short-sighted not to include these. So, although the site URL specifically high-lights the use of polycore for making shutters, we are also updating our information to cover a wide variety of highly recommendable innovations to shutter design and materials used in their forming. The site is specifically owned by the editor, Julian Pollock, who also publishes, manages and maintains various websites on wide ranging topics. One of his more recent publications includes an organic related site which allows him to express his concerns for the ever- and rapidly-changing environment and weather patterns. It is with some joy to discover that environmentally friendly products are now often used and featured within the construction of shutters, which themselves have great value in protecting property from the ravages and devastational natural forces of storms, hurricanes and tornadoes. Like any proud father, he can't help let slip that his 12 year old daughter designed the top banner, as she has also done for most of his sites to date.
